John is currently completing his BSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy at the Institute of Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy (IICP) which consists of four years of intensive training.  He is registered with IACP (Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and abides by their Code of Ethics.

Committed to his ongoing training and professional development he attends ongoing personal therapy, clinical supervision, and participates in regular workshops and seminars.  His main psychotherapeutic approach is grounded in Person-Centred and Choice Theory. 

John is a passionate therapist who brings with him valuable knowledge and experience having worked in the holistic therapies sector for the past 15 years in Kinesiology, Massage, Reiki, and Meditation.

Having benefited personally and professionally from therapy he aims to offer clients a secure, calm, and confidential space to explore their unique journey.  His priority lies in holding a professional, ethical and non-judgmental space to allow clients to feel safe and contained to facilitate healing and personal transformation. Focusing and developing the client’s internal resources and coping strategies are key to this process.

John works closely with the LGBTIQ+ community in Dublin.  He is also a passionate advocate for men’s health and is involved with a number of men’s support and development groups in Ireland.  

Previous relevant qualifications and specialized experience include:

  • Clinical experience with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder  
  • Professional Certificate in the Therapeutic Use of Mindfulness
  • Diploma in Health Sciences
