We have a number of pricing options for clients and our aim is to find every enquiry an affordable solution that works for them.
- Prices range between €50-€80 for one to one sessions
- Relationship (couples) sessions are priced between €90-€120.
- We do offer a low cost counselling service subject to therapist availability & initial assessment. If you are interested in enquiring about this service or accessing other community & low cost counselling services please do enquire and we will make sure to explain all the options.
Private Health Insurance Reimbursement

Many plans cover visits to a psychotherapist or counsellor that is a member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) or a member of the Irish Council for Psychotherapy (ICP). Each plan will have a different level of cover, for example on our 4D Health 2 plan, members can claim back 50% up to 12 visits capped at €1,000 per policy year.
Plans that have this cover include 4D Health 2, 4D Health 3, 4D Health 4, 4D Health 5 and Better Select ILH.
Laya Healthcare – Adult Counselling benefit
Claim back amount depends on the plan. The counsellor/therapist must be a full member of the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP), The Irish Council for Psychotherapy, the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive psychotherapy or the Irish Association of Behavioural and Cognitive psychotherapy.
Members on the ExcelCare, 360 Care, and 360 Care Select, Care Select, ConnectCare, Connect Choice, Connect Choice 500, Connect Simplicity, Control 150 Create, Health Secure Plus, Inspire, Inspire Plus, Prime, Principle, Simply Health Choice, Simply Health Plus, Simply Health Plus 500 Total health Complete 175 and Total health Plus are eligible to claim this benefit.
VHI advise that they do not provide a list of plans that will cover visits to practitioners as the benefits on the plan are subject to change. This means that at any time they may add the benefit to a plan or remove this benefit. VHI recommend clients contact them directly to check their benefits and to ascertain their cover in relation to counselling.
