About Rosie:
If you’re navigating a difficult or overwhelming period in your life, Rosie offers a calm, non-judgemental space to explore what’s going on for you.
Rosie is a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist and a pre-accredited member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP). She holds a first-class honours BSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy from PCI College Dublin (accredited by Middlesex University) along with a Certificate in Counselling.
She is passionate about supporting individuals through life’s challenges and brings a wealth of experience from her years working in the mental health sector, particularly in stigma reduction and suicide prevention. Rosie has presented research at the International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP) World Congress in Slovenia, contributed to national and international mental health research projects, and currently serves on the editorial committee for the Irish Journal of Counselling and Psychotherapy. Before entering the mental health field, Rosie worked in the heritage sector and holds an MA in History from the University of Manchester and a BA (Hons) in English Literature and History from Trinity College Dublin.
Rosie’s Therapeutic Approach:
Rosie’s approach is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. She creates a safe and accepting space where clients can explore the emotions, issues, and challenges they’re facing in their lives. She works from a humanistic, person-centred approach and incorporates other approaches, such as CBT and psychodynamic therapy, based on the unique needs of her clients.
At the heart of Rosie’s work is a belief in people’s capacity to survive, even through some of life’s toughest challenges. She believes that therapy can be a powerful tool in helping individuals gain insight into themselves and their unique capacity for growth, resilience and understanding. She supports clients through a wide range of experiences including (but not limited to):
- Anxiety
- Depression and low mood
- Relationship and family issues
- Suicidal thoughts and self-harm
- Low self-esteem or confidence
- Work and academic stress
- Difficult or traumatic childhood experiences
- Women’s health issues
- Existential concerns
Everyone’s experience is unique, and even if the challenges you’re facing aren’t listed here, Rosie offers a kind and welcoming space where you can explore whatever is going on for you, at your own pace.
Next Steps:
Knowing that reaching out to a therapist can sometimes feel daunting, Rosie ensures this process is as comfortable as possible by offering an informal, friendly and compassionate approach to clients. Those who may feel unsure about counselling can avail of a free 15-minute intro call where they can find out more about how it works and decide if it’s the right fit for them. Rosie also believes therapy should be available to everyone who needs it and offers a limited number of reduced-fee spaces to support this.
