Background & Training:
Orla is a fully qualified and accredited psychotherapist and a fully accredited member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP). She holds a BSc (Hons) in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from PCI College and is currently completing an MSc in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy, also through PCI College.
Orla works therapeutically with adults, children, and adolescents.
Adult Therapy
In her work with adults, Orla practises from an integrative therapeutic framework, drawing on Jungian, psychodynamic, person-centred, and Gestalt approaches. Her work is collaborative and client-led, with a strong emphasis on creating a safe, ethical, and supportive therapeutic relationship. Orla works with adults presenting with a range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, loss and bereavement, and life transitions.
Child and Adolescent Therapy
Orla offers a safe, containing, and developmentally appropriate therapeutic space for children and adolescents. Her work is informed by her specialist training in child and adolescent psychotherapy and is grounded in a trauma-informed and relational approach. She works with children and young people presenting with difficulties such as anxiety, low mood, trauma, emotional regulation challenges, behavioural concerns, self-esteem issues, social difficulties, and family or school-related issues. Where appropriate and in line with ethical practice, Orla works collaboratively with parents or caregivers to support the therapeutic process.
