Mariana Saad-Deignan

Trainee Psychotherapist (MSc Candidate)

Background & Training

Mariana Saad is currently completing her HDip and is an MSc Candidate in Psychotherapy at IICP College, Dublin. She is an IACP student member. She holds a Master’s degree in French Literature from University College Dublin and has a background in academic lecturing at UCD. She has also completed volunteer work with Aware, providing support to people affected by depression and mood disorders.

Clinical Approach

Mariana’s therapeutic approach is integrative and humanistic at its core, drawing on a range of modalities depending on each client’s needs and presenting concerns. Her work is informed by Psychodynamic and Jungian analytical therapy, French Existentialism, and Somatic approaches, with a strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship as the foundation for meaningful change.

Where appropriate, Mariana incorporates Breathwork and energy healing practices to support clients in releasing anxiety, working through trauma, and shifting unhelpful patterns that may be held in the body or energy field. She works with adults in both short-term and longer-term therapy.

Jungian Astrology & Depth Work

Mariana is a certified professional psychological astrologer working from a Jungian perspective, with over ten years of experience supporting clients through this lens. She approaches Jungian Astrology as a tool for self-discovery and depth exploration, integrating it with Shadow work, Active Imagination, and Dreamwork to help clients access insight into their inner life, relationships, and sense of purpose. This practice sits alongside and complements her psychotherapy training.

Multicultural Perspective

Originally from Lebanon and educated within the French cultural and educational system, Mariana brings a lived multicultural perspective to her clinical work. She is committed to culturally sensitive practice and works collaboratively with each client to acknowledge and explore how their cultural background, heritage, and lived experience shape their inner world and relational patterns. Mariana has a particular interest in working with people from diverse communities and backgrounds, and a specific focus on war trauma, exile, displacement, identity, and marginalisation. She also holds a long-standing interest in men’s wellbeing and mental health.

Mariana works with adults and offers sessions in English, Arabic, and French.
