Karen Blaney
Psychotherapist
With over ten years’ experience as a post-primary educator in Ireland, I bring a deep understanding of young people, families, and the complex challenges that can arise across different stages of life. My background in education, alongside experience in the social care sector, has allowed me to work with individuals from diverse cultural, social, and personal backgrounds.
I am a pre-accredited counsellor with over two years of clinical experience and work from a person-centred approach. This means I place you — your feelings, experiences, and personal story — at the heart of our work together. I believe that each person has the capacity for growth and healing when offered a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space in which to explore their inner world.
As a therapist who identifies as lesbian, I am particularly committed to providing an affirming and inclusive space for members of the LGBTQIA+ community. I also have experience supporting neurodiverse clients and strive to ensure that therapy is adapted to meet your unique needs and ways of experiencing the world.
I am passionate about helping others cultivate self-awareness, self-compassion, and meaningful change. I encourage self-reflection and self-exploration as powerful tools for living a more authentic, balanced, and fulfilling life.
I offer sessions in both English and French.
