Psychotherapist/Clinical Supervisor
Geraldine Kellett (MIACP) holds a BSc Hons in Counselling and Psychotherapy, a Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy from PCI College and a Certificate in Counselling skills from Maynooth University College. Other certificates achieved are in working with trauma, group therapy, couples therapy, anger management, art therapy, body therapy, suicide prevention, leadership and train the trainer.
Geraldine is an IACP accredited supervisor, having completed a Diploma in Integrative Supervision across professions with IICP College. Geraldine attends regular clinical supervision and annually upgrades her skills through continual professional development.
Clinical experience:
Geraldine is an experienced integrative and humanistic psychotherapy, trainer and mentor. She is fully accredited with IACP, and has extensive experience working in a community setting, in particular the Family Resource Centres (FRC) with clients and groups from different backgrounds and cultures.
Geraldine also works as a mentor with clients who need support to achieve a better work/life balance. She sees clients individually, in couples linked to relationship issues while also working with groups.
The range of issues presented by clients include trauma, abuse, anger issues, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, bereavement and loss to name but a few.
Geraldine facilitates workshops on Trauma, and educates people to be trauma informed in their workplace. She also gives talks and workshops on stress reduction, wellness /wellbeing which includes mindfulness and meditation.
Her approach integrates person-centred, psychodynamic, gestalt, along with other modalities such as CBT, reality and solution-focused therapies. Fostering a good working alliance is central to her therapeutic approach, building the therapeutic relationship though trust. Simply put Geraldine’s approach is based on acceptance and compassion, in a non-judgemental and empathetic way. Geraldine ensures a safe environment for clients to help them to make the positive changes in order to live a more fulfilled life.
