Gabriela Bucur, MIACP
Psychotherapist
Multilingual Psychotherapist & Logotherapist
Groups & Family & Couples & Individuals
Languages: English, Romanian, and Italian.
Gabriela is a qualified Multilingual Psychotherapist and an Accredited Member of the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MIACP). Her practice is deeply rooted in Multicultural humility offering a culturally sensitive lens that honours the diverse backgrounds, traditions, and perspectives of her clients. She combines a structured Clinical Precision with the depth of Existential and Psychoanalytic Thought.
Gabriela possesses a rare perspective on the human condition, shaped by her personal experiences of sitting at the intersection of high-touch Human Vulnerability in Romanian Orphanages and high-tech medical intervention in Irish hospitals. Transitioning from the technical landscape of the hospital to the Soul-Work of Psychotherapy and Logotherapy has been a natural evolution for Gabriela. Through her own experience with abandoned children and her years spent at the bedsides of patients facing life’s most daunting transitions, she has witnessed a singular Truth: while medicine can heal the Body, it is the Human Spirit that must navigate the Search for Meaning. To her, sadness and worry aren’t just symptoms to be managed, but signals that it’s time to courageously face your own narrative and transform your life from the inside out.
Areas of Clinical Interest:
Gabriela provides clinical ADHD and Neurodiversity support for adults, alongside tailored psychological care for cancer patients and women navigating all stages of Perimenopause and Menopause.
She also specializes in Psychosexual Concerns & Identity, while providing emotional and spiritual accompaniment as a Death Doula for those facing End-of-Life transitions or acute crises. With her approach, she helps clients uncover meaning within their struggles & suffering, turning anxiety into achievement and psychological fog into clarity.
Training and Qualifications:
Professional Diploma in Logotherapy and Existential Analysis:
Logotherapy is a cornerstone of Gabriela’s practice. This “Meaning-Centered” training provided her a better understanding of Life & Death Concepts and Instincts, Existential Angst, and the Theory and Therapy of Mental Disorders like Neuroses, Psychoses, Schizophrenia, Criminality, Existential Vacuum (Lack of Meaning, Boredom, Inner Emptiness), Sunday Neurosis, Despair, Violence & Aggression, Addictions, Depression, and Suicide.
As of now, Gabriela is enrolled in a four-year advanced Psychoanalytic Professional MA in UCD School of Medicine, which involves:
- Weekly psychiatric case conferences at St Vincent’s University Hospital.
- In-depth clinical research into Human Sexuality and Sexuation, Neurosis, Psychosis, Schizophrenia, Addiction, Criminality, Child Psychoanalysis, and Clinical Diagnosis.
- A clinical focus on the interplay between Language, Symptoms, and Dreams.
Through a psychoanalytic lens, Gabriela facilitates a space where clients can articulate unconscious concerns and uncover the “unheard” factors that influence their actions and life positions. Her professional output is profoundly shaped by her interest in Psychosis, Schizophrenia, Criminality, Dreams, and Human & Infantile Sexuality, which are the core pillars in her current studies and curriculum.
Areas of Clinical Expertise:
Life Transition & Women’s Health,
Sexuality & Sexuation,
Suicide, Neurodiversity, and Logotherapy.
For those seeking clarity amidst life’s most difficult transitions, Gabriela offers a supportive space rooted in Holistic, Logotherapeutic, and Psychoanalytic approaches to healing.
Her practice addresses the specific needs of Neurodivergent adults, patients struggling with Cancer & Chronic Illness, Identity & Health Issues, Fertility, Human Connection, Relationship & Sexuality Issues, Work Related Issues & Career Difficulties, Addiction, Anger, Eating Disorders, Lack of Boundaries, and women in hormonal transition such as Perimenopause and Menopause.
Besides her work, Gabriela has experience in Crisis Intervention and Suicide & Self-Harm Prevention. Through Logotherapy principles, she creates a grounded and compassionate environment for people who are experiencing profound Despair or Ideation, guiding them toward discovering a Sense of Purpose that can sustain them through their darkest moments. By tapping into a client’s Innate Spiritual Resilience, she provides a roadmap through Existential Dread and the competing Instincts that shape their pursuit of meaning.
With expertise in Psychosexual Concerns and her role as a Death Doula, she also provides compassionate support for everything from Identity crises to End-of-Life Transitions.
In a safe and professional setting, Gabriela also guides clients through an exploration of their Sexual Identity. With a deep understanding of Human Sexuality and Sexuation, Gabriela empowers individuals to explore their sexual building blocks and bridge the gap between conscious needs and the unconscious desires that dictate how one truly inhabits their Sexual Self. To restore a healthy sense of intimacy, Gabriela pinpoints the “Existential Vacuum” and the triggers behind Addictive & Compulsive Behaviours (e.g. Pornography). Her clinical objective is to help her clients prioritize conscious choices that reflect their genuine personal values over impulsive ones. Finally, the focus moves towards revitalizing Sexual Vitality by resolving the psychological and psychosomatic barriers, such as performance anxiety or loss of libido, that hinder physical vitality and connection.
