Background

Originally from County Longford, Aoife has a BA in Psychology from Maynooth University (NUIM) and is currently completing her Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy with Zestlife College in Dublin.

Aoife’s approach is Integrative drawing on variety of therapeutic models (e.g. Person Centred, Compassion Focused Therapy, Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy). At the core of Aoife’s approach is kindness, non-judgement, validation and empowerment. Her priority is to ensure a safe and compassionate relationship with her clients.

Aoife holds ten years administrative experience in a range of areas including a family business and in the charity sector. Her role as a service administrator with Jigsaw involved Aoife being a point of contact offering information and support to young people/parents while ensuring confidentiality.

Aoife also has four years teaching experience; including working with children with Autism and teaching English in Spain.

Aoife is a Student member of IACP (Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and attends regular clinical supervision. Aoife is also developing her counselling skills outside her core training through attending a variety of CPD courses some of which have included:

  • –  Communicating in Challenging Circumstances When People are Experiencing Loss and Grief (Irish Hospice Foundation)
