Emelda Obidike

Education & Background

Emelda Obidike is a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist. She is originally from Nigeria but has been living in Ireland for over 10 years. Emelda holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Middlesex University London and is a pre-accredited member of the Irish Association for Counseling and Psychotherapy (IACP), with her practice conducted within their code of ethics.

Emelda is committed to delivering client-centred support that gradually empowers the clients and enables them to make informed decisions. She places great importance on building a relationship with her client and believes that the trusting therapeutic relationship between the therapist and client is the vehicle for transformation and change. Emelda practices an integrative approach to counselling and psychotherapy, which means she selects the techniques from different therapeutic orientations best suited to a client’s particular problem or needs. She firmly believes that integrative counselling helps to promote healing and facilitates wholeness. Ensuring that all levels of a person’s being and functioning (mental, physical & emotional health) are maximised to their full potential.
