Background & Training:
To attain this qualification Ravind spent four years training with Turning Point Institute in Dublin also earning their Diploma in Integrative Clinical Psychotherapy recognized by the IACP, IAHIP & EAP accrediting bodies as a fully accredited training for the practice of Psychotherapy.
Ravind adopts a Pluralistic approach to the process of Psychotherapy with a Person Centered & Psychodynamic foundation. Where appropriate he can use Solution Focused and evidence based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) specifically for short term counselling & work related issues.
Ravind has broad experience working with many presenting issues, in particular distress related to relationship issues, bereavement & loss, anxiety, depression, post & ante natal depression, abortion & fertility.
Ravind has a specific interest in Culturally Responsive Counselling, minority stress and working with difference. He has experience working with clients from many different countries, ethnic backgrounds and minority perspectives. Ravind has completed additional cultural competence training at the Nafsiyat Intercultural Therapy centre in London.
Ravind attends regular clinical supervision and continues to develop his skills through continued professional development, having completed additional courses in suicide intervention (ASIST), and working with survivors of domestic abuse. Ravind has also been trained to incorporate (and measure) client feedback in sessions using an approach known as Feedback Informed Treatment (FIT), an example of evidence based practice.

Prior to Psychotherapy
Before completing his psychotherapy training, Ravind had a thirteen year career in the corporate sector having received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Trinity College Dublin.
His years of employment representing large corporations inspired an interest in the area of counselling and mental health. This led him to complete a foundation certificate in counselling with PCI college prior to starting a full four year training.
Ravind has an interest in social justice and has over 6 years of experience volunteering with vulnerable people of all age groups The bulk of this has been in youth advocacy for Foróige but more recently he has been involved advocating for vulnerable people affected by the housing crisis in Dublin.
